We are about to go up on ESS/MSS, and have a question. For the Managers, they really have no business knowing if I (one of their direct reports) have a Child Care deduction, or whatever listed, so we want to take that link away from them. When that manager logs into ESS, I believe that this link will still not be there for them. Is there a way around this, or do we have to resort to seperate logins for the managers to keep their security in tact.

And then what about the HR personell who should have access to these functional areas anyway?

    Am I over complicating things?

    Thanks,

Nah, your're not complicating things...Lawson just didn't understand that a user can be an employee, a requisitioner, a vendor, a customer, a manager, and oh yeah, a user! At least until we all get to 9.0 security, of course. (Excuse me while I wipe the fairy dust off my keyboard....).

The only real workable solution (besides living with it) is to create separate user ids for each of these "roles" for a user, and tailor the security class for the manager so that they can't see the sensitive/personal information. If they want to see their own, they have to switch to the their ESS userid.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Thanks, John! That's what we thought, but just wanted to be sure!
