I am working in GL20 and want to change the number of digits in my accounting units.  Right now I have 13 digits and want to change to 10 digits.  The levels can and will remain the same.  Do I have to add all 10 digit accounting units or is there a way  to mass add them?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

First, I am assuming that activity exists against the AU's so delete and re-add is not an option when activity exists.
Second, you should get an error message that a level already exists if using the same if they are identical
Third, I think the mass add using add-ins may be your best option once you find a way around #2.

I guess I would dump the GLNAMES file for the group of AU's you want to change, change the data in the spreadsheet and upload to GL20. Because this is a new AU to the system, you will also have to add the AU/Acct relationships. You can dump and load those as well or do the Mass Add GL121 program to address this piece.

Thanks for the info Mark. There is activity that exists and levels already exist, so I will need to work on that aspect. I figured that addins are the way to go once I get past item #2. Thanks for the confirmation and feedback.
