This open enrollment season we are "carving out" our Preventive Dental benefit that used to be embedded in our Medical Plan with one vendor but the employee will not notice any change. In essence it is a zero premium plan and enrollment into it happens only when the employee elects Medical. Therefore the employee benefit record(s) for the dental plan MUST mirror the health including the fact that the same dependents on the health plan must be enrolled in the Dental Plan.
We would like to force the enrollment in the plan instead of giving the employees any option to enroll on self-service. We also want to do that for new hires next year.
Has anyone done this before - had a carve-out with mandatory enrollment and automated the process so the enrollment is transparent to the employee?
