MS ADD-Ins to upload CHANGE to deduction

    I am looking to use the upload wizard to CHANGE an existing deduction. All I want to do is have it change the amount of a deduction for the specific employee for the specific deduction code.

    How do I do this?

      You would do that by mapping to PR14.

      You will need to fill in:
      EDM-COMPANY
      EDM-EMPLOYEE
      EDM-DED-CODE
      EDM-SEQ-NBR
      EDM-SEQ-NBR is the tricky part--it's a hidden field. If it's a benefits deduction, you'll need to query against EMDEDMASTR to get it; if it's a Payroll deduction, it will be zero.

        Thanks... I will try this out tomorrow.

        I am going to get a deduction file every other week from a vendor and will need to upload the data. Some may have an existing deduction for the code and I will just need to change the deduction amount. Others will not have an exisitng deduction for the code so I will need to add their deduction. I am going to test this on our test server... Really what I want is to have the upload automated but I first need to see what I have to do to manually upload through the wizard first.

          Shane, I typically write a COBOL program to consume these files and create a DEDLOADCSV file for upload via PR514...

            Any ideas on how to track tax deduction history for an employee. If they change their number of exemptions is there a record of the previous value in Lawson???

              I believe that if you have the deduction fields set up on HR10 to track history, the changes are recorded in HRHISTORY. You can then run PR280 to report the changes.
