I’m trying to figure out the best way to handle the retention bonus’s we paid out to some hourly employees this month. We have never given retention bonus to non exempt employees before so there is an issue on our overtime FLSA calculation.
According to the department of labor we need to adjust the overtime rate of pay each check over the 2 year period of the retention bonus. I tried to figure out how to make this work properly in our Lawson test environment and tried everything I could think of and couldn’t do it.
I opened a ticket with Lawson and they said it could not be done, but enter an enhancement. Surely someone out here has had this issue before and will be willing to help.
