We currenly are using PRUEDED to do a custom calculation for our teacher and support staff retirement. While the calculation works fine during the school year it is during the summer when teachers are not on contract and teaching summer school we do not want PRUEDED using some of the board paid deductions to calculate retirement for their summer work. We are looking at removing the deduction cycle 1 and 2 from these employees (PR15.2) but we are having a difficult time with accessing the field with PRUEDED. What we want is to check whick cycle payroll is running 1 or 2, and this works fine in PRUEDED as we can see this field through display statements, we are trying to use the payroll deduction cycle as the index to which deduction cycle to reference i.e.

edm-ded-cycle (pr-ded-cycle), and although we have removed the cycle from some employees in test, when we display the variable in the job log it is still showing and "X" instead of a space.

    Any help is appreciated.

When the logic is doing the PRUEDED code, the current EMDEDMASTR in memory may not be the one related to the field PRUE-DED-CODE.
DO a specific 840-FIND-EDMSET1 or something to fetch the correct EMDEDMASTR and then do a lookup of edm-ded-cycle(prue-ded-cycle)
