My company wants to migrate to electronic W2's but not sure how to approach this. We do NOT have Lawson's ESS. We do currently use MHC and print them. We would like to speak to anyone who is providing W2's electronically to find out how you are providing this service and any complications you might have.

We use the MHC electronic W2 solution in conjunction with EMSS. Although I have not tried, it appears their product can be hung off of any menu since it does not use Lawson SSO. Rather, it uses it's own http call requiring users to go through a seperate authentication process. As for the modules, there is a portion of the product used for managing/importing the documents that you will install on a workstation or the Lawson application server and there is a piece that will need to run on your webserver that handles the web connections and document rendering. This second piece might be on a different (DMZ) machine especially if you are offering employees "remote" access to their W2's from home, etc. The biggest challenge we've had has been getting people to use it who are accustomed to getting their W2 in the mail but that's a change management issue not a problem with MHC. Unfortunately the present legislation does not allow us to dictate electronic delivery. Your MHC sales rep or pre-sales support should be able to go over all this with you in more detail.

We too use MHC for Electronic W-2's and check printing. We serve this up as a bookmark link off ESS. This application is setting on its own server so as long as you have security around access to the application you should be golden with rolling this out even without ESS.
