Good morning - our users requested the description display for Ben date 1, 2 and 3 (on PAEMPLOYEE) be changed in their portal view.  The decision was made to change the descriptions using design studio on HR11   - however, users make the bulk of changes using personnel actions, and we didn't think things through since the HR11 change doesn't flow over to the PA52 screens.  Is there a way to change the descriptions here, also?

Many thanks for any insight -

You can change the PA52.scr file...
Find the label that it displays now, and change it to whatever you want - being careful of spacing
      Delete the int files.
Recompile the program, and the display values are changed.

This will have to be re-done every time a patch or app update touches the PA52.scr file, but we've gotten by with modding a couple here.

        I'll add a few points:

        1) Since you have Design Studio, I'd use it, instead of Greg's method, since you're *only* changing the field label.
        2) The DS/.scr method *only* works with STATIC field labels, and cannot be used on some parts of PA52.X

        Now, on to the details:
Since, you don't state which PA52 screen, nor version of the applications you're referring, so I'll address all tokens of PA52, within version 9.0.1:
        - For PA52.2/.4/.5: All field labels should be editable via Design Studio, as all the fields I could see are STATIC
        - For PA52.1/.3: All fields which are NOT on the "Selected Items #" tabs are editable via Design Studio
        - For labels within tabs named "Selected Items #" on PA52.1/.3: These will need to be changed within HR04.X, HR10.X, or you'll have to manually edit PADICT/PADICT2

Stephanie, I know you said Portal, but I want to point out that Design Studio changes are only visible in Portal (and Workspace). If you use Smart Office, or intend to, they will also need to be implemented as personalizations there as well.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!
