Has anyone got a solution for how to prevent employee's FICA Numbers from being displayed on results of Employee drill fields? Whenever anyone drills around on the employee field from any screen, the displayed results include every employee's social security number. We would like to prevent this information form being so plainly and easily visible.

I have found some articles and discussion threads referencing HR.sr. However, I am unfamiliar with this file and how to modify it. (i.e. what to recompile afterwards, etc.) Is it as simple as removing the FICA-NBR from the display fields on any occurrence within that file?

Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

      Hi TBonney,

You do not mention what security you are using (laua or LS9).

Access to files, forms or fields, should be granted or denied through security classes which are then assigned to users or roles. (In LS9, roles are assigned to users and can contain many security classes.)

Drill around is secured at the file level.

Create or modify a security class to grant access to the HR system code, but deny access to the FICA-NBR in the EMPLOYEE file.

There is an Implementing Lawson Security manual on the Infor website which would be an excellent reference. Document Number LSIMP-901UWA-03

If you are using Lawson Security I have this disabled in one of my security classes. Let me know if you want to see how I have it setup.
