Hello, I would like to know if any of you have found a way to attach a document to a flow.
Situation:  We are implementing a personal action flow on a Merit increase.  We would like for the Managers to upload the Review documentation at the same time they enter the Merit increase. Ideally when the flow reaches compensation all the required documents would be attached to the notification or inbasket for their review.  Any information or ideas on this request would be appreciated.

You can't really attach documents with ProcessFlow (the email attachment is a specific file that was uploaded from the PF Designer and has a set name). What I've done in the past is reference a shared folder created to hold files related to a flow and included a link to that folder. You could use the employee number as a sub-folder to your shared "review" folder so approvers could click a link (maybe included in the email notice or on the Inbasket review page) which would open the folder that contains the related documentation.

That is not correct. In 9.0 you can dynamically create attachments, as long as they reside on the application server they can be attached to an email.

You can also dynamically add links to your inbasket display as long as the documents are in a format recognized by IE such as word, excel or pdf.

In 90x email attachment should reside in LAWDIR/bpm/emailattachment directory unless you are running your processflow in the client.

That was true in 8.0.3 but is not true in 9.0. You can dynamically build the attachement name, including the directory, I have done this many times. It just needs to be on the application server.

So your method is basically giving users the ability to upload to the Lawson application server and then dynamically build the attachment name and it will be included on the email as an attached document? Sounds interesting but how many clients will allow users to upload to their application server?

Thanks again for the responses. We are running 9.0.... I can attach the file to the flow for the manager to fill out, I'm just not sure how to keep it there once the Manager completes and saves it. David's idea is good but we will have to tackle security and maintenance issues surrounding the folder structure. Gary, by dynamically creating the attachment would there be any folder security issues to tackle?
