I know attachments can be an issue within PF but I am curious about the ability to FTP static documents from one server to the next across fire walls (security issues would be our issue of course) and have the document reside on the PF server and allow for that document to be selected and attached along with a request.. We have internal customers that reside outside of our network of servers and would need to be able to attach supporting documentation along with their requests. The document would remain static throughout the flow approval process and would only be viewed by approvers who are internal within my department and have access to the servers where the documents would be placed. I thought I read some where that attachments could be placed directly onto the server first, then selected upon initiation of a request (manual trigger on a form) and attached so approvers within an inbasket could view the forms. Is this the case? If so, is the attachment a URL link straight to the form via a file directory path to the server? Would it pull up the form in its' original format (such as PDF) or would it be text document only?

Are you referring to attachments to emails or to workunits?
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

That would be attachments to the work unit.

What I have seen, for requisition or PO approvals, is that the URL for an attachment is added to the requisition or PO record and that URL referenced within either the ProcessFlow email or Inbasket display. The approver would be able to click the link and open the "attachment."

ProcessFlow allows you to upload documents that can be attached to an email. After you upload the original document you can overwrite it with a new one (with FTP, etc.) and the newest file will be the one sent with the email.
