We have a need to take transactions from an external system and process them through a series of Lawson transactions. The transactions will take place on several different Lawson screens and so this seems tailor made for Process Flow. The external system can push the data to us through a SOAP message. At this time sending the data via an FTP process is not an option.
We have been working with some consultants who advised us to use Websphere MQ for this process. Unfortunate we have hit some road blocks due to a lack of knowledge dealing with MQ. The blockages are such that we are re-considering if Websphere MQ is the best option for what we need to do. Currently we have been able to trigger a flow when something is placed in the MQ queue, but we have not been able to do anything with the data in the body of the message sent to the queue, and we are struggling with configuring MQ to accept a SOAP message.
What are the options available to accept data from an external source? Should we create a custom api to accept the data and trigger the flow passing the data? Continue of with Websphere? What do other systems do in this case?
We are just trying to get a feel for what the possibilities are, and what other people have done. Any feedback/advice/help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
