Additional Websphere Application server for Add-Ins

In our Production environment, we have a single Websphere application server that is handing both Add-Ins activity and Portal activity. I was wondering if anyone has created an additional Websphere application server for add-ins users to use. If so, how much work is involved with it? Are additional endpoints within ssoconfig needed? Our production application has Websphere and IIS on it, and we have a separate database server. Any information would be helpful.

We're on LSF 9.0.1.5, Websphere 6.1 fixpack 33, and 9.0.1 MSP4 applications.
