Hi,
We are planing to migrate App 9.0 to 9.01 and LSf 9.0.1.2 to 9.0.1.6
and WAS 6 to 7 and TDS 6.1 to 6.2, however we have lot of custom defined forms (nearly 500) and most of the standard forms are modified as per our requirement, So this App upgrade will over write the changes? if that is the case how i can over come this issue i.e, recreating the all forms is very pain full wrok. we also have RSS forms redesigned with Java script Via Designer,
Pls suggest

If you have customized a base form, rather than cloning it, then yes, the upgrade will likely be painful. You need to take a systematic inventory of what is custom, why it is custom, etc... The goal is to make your customizations as non-intrusive as possible, eliminating unnecessary ones, moving some to user exits and auxiliary tables, and where possible, just forging them. Then build a new 901 standard product line, and re-apply any remaining customizations.

Did you upgrade from 8 to 9? If so there might be some planning documents that can help minimize the work load. The problem you are running into is common and why we try to stay away from massive numbers of customizations.

Thanks for replies,
We are upgrading 9.0.0 to 9.0.1 the customization means (we have added the default values in the form field via designer, and added some url via java scripts, customized printer settings like that) and we also have some custom tables and procedures in Productline Schema in the oracle database. will the dbreorg delete those tables and additionally created objects from the productline schema?
for example for Check printing we did code change to print the pre-printed check and same to LPO printing, will those get affect.

Chitta,
If I were you, I would divide what you are trying to do in two phases. It's safer and less painful to troublehshoot if something goes wrong.
I ) upgrade environment from 9.0.1.2 to 9.0.1.6 <--- should be relatively easy. (WAS6 - WAS7, TDS, check jdk, netexpress, and database client compatibility)
II ) upgrade app from 9.0.0.x to 9.0.1.x, you will need to run data promotion package. I suggest doing it on a TEST prodline and see what customizations are broken and document all the fixes. Then you can start testing in the 9.0.1.x TEST prodline.

When you apply the patch in preview mode you will get a preview.log in the $LAWDIR/$PL/Admin/ directory. An "M" will be put next to any program that has been modified.
