I would like to hear from others who are running Lawson on Windows 2008 R2, 9.0.1.7 env on VmWare v4.1.  We are portal users and hosting LBI v9.0.4.1 inside portal, using DSSO.  During the last nine months we have experienced some system performance issues.   We have tuned WebSphere, reviewed installation and configuration settings with multiple consultants.   The frequency of our outages has decreased but they have not gone away.   The symptoms are:
    1)  Batch job submissions take up to 5 minutes to complete.
    2) LBI takes a very long time to draw in Portal.  Again it can take up to 5 minutes time to present the tabs and content modules.
    3)  LID utilities, such as DBDEF take considerably longer to draw.   Trying to view a job log can take minutes from JOBSCHD.
    4)  Process Flows with system call nodes will fail.

The only thing that seems to help is to reboot the server.

Has anyone else experienced this?  If so,  what did do you do to solve this?

    Thanks,

      Gary,
I am aware of Environnment patches for issue #1. Did you patch the environment (patch or ESP) around the begging of the issues?

We experience similar issues on a similar platform (Win 2008 R2, 9.0.1.8, LBI 9.0.1.4) - jobs taking a while to submit a job, Reporting Services slow to load, etc.  After checking the logs, nothing appears to be hung nor are there any errors in the logs.  Users can still do their work but are pretty annoyed at the performance, so I must schedule a reboot.  One thing that I do notice is when these problems do occur WebSphere will not go down unless I kill the PID.  Have you had any issues with the WebSphere server not coming down cleanly?

The environment was patched immediately after the install and a couple of times since.   It was last patched with all the patches available on 2/9/12.   The version of Websphere running is 7.0.0.19.    Netexpress is 5.1 wrappack #04.

I hadn't noticed anything in particular in regards to WebSphere stopping or starting.

            Garry,
We experienced the exact same symptoms on our Windows 2003 Server with 9.0.1.5 env, 9.0.4.1 LBI. At first, I went through the same routine of rebooting my Lawson servers. I then found that doing a stoplase/startlase resolved the slowdown, seemingly pointing to an issue with the security server. I finally started taking a look at the WAS systemout.log on the LBI server, and I noticed a correlation between the running of certain crystal reports and the system slowdown. Just so happened that we had brought in a contractor to do crystal report development. After she re-worked the offending reports (and I don't have any specifics on what that entailed), the problem has disappeared. Might be worth pursuing that angle.
