The Register reports today (Jan. 31, 2013)  'Silent but deadly' Java security update breaks legacy apps
    http://www.theregister.co...ava_security_update/

In a nutshell:  The report is that Java 7 Update 11 (Java 7u11) has just been patched, and in the patching process, it removes Java 6.  Yep, you read that right, it REMOVES Java 6.

Lawson S3 installs depend upon specific versions of Java.  There are often specific pointers to specific named locations for Java executables.  Normally, multiple versions of Java can reside on a single server.  Each application that uses a specific Java can access its own "certified to work" flavor.  Removing Java 6 without updating the software that depends upon it can cause the software to fail.  This can affect other bolt-ons to Lawson, such as, ImageNow, and MHC's Document Express.

On Windows servers, it is possible to disable Java updates.  If you haven't already disabled Java updates, you should do so.  All Java updates, whether for security or not, should be done manually, after permission or at least instructions from the software vendor (Lawson).

Disclaimer:  I have not tested this, I am going from past experience, where multiple specific Java instances were installed on a single server.
