For those of you who have attemtpted / passed the certification exams, I need some advice.

We are on environment 8.0.3, ESP7 and Apps 8.1.0, MSP6. I've been the lead Lawson admin for my company since we went live in August 2004.

Over the past six months, I've completed the IBM Websphere 6.1 Install / Admin Course, the IBM Websphere 6.1 Performance Monitoring / Tuning Course, and the "Lawson LSF9 Admin for Migration from Env 8.0.3" course (3 days in St. Paul).

Outside of the training courses and based on my experience, I feel I know Lawson 8.0.3 admin pretty well. However, my only exposure to IBM Websphere and LSF9 has been through the training courses I've attended; I have no hands-on experience in either of these specific areas. I have no experience with LDAP either though I have completed about 6 hours of web-based training presentations on Windows Active Directory.

My understanding is that at this point, my next step is the initial Lawson LSF9 Admin exam. Once I past this exam, I am ready to attend the 5-day LSF9 migration course, at which time a second exam is required to get the full certification.

My question is in regards to the initial Admin exam. How do I know if I'm really ready? With no test questions or anything, I have no idea if I'm prepared enough to take this exam. I do not want to go into the test room blind without having some sort of assurance that I'm good to go.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help because my company has already spent a lot of money on my training and I desperately don't want to dissappoint them (or myself).

Hi John. If you look on Lawson's support (or perhaps the training) site, there are a couple of PDFs on the certification process which have checklists on the various things covered on the tests.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

You sound pretty well prepared to me. I suggest some reading on security administration, including the new security module, even if your site intents to keep LAUA.
