Lawson advised that MyLawson support extends to all commissioned environment releases; however, development will only support the current and most recent GA versions. What does this mean for you?

9.1.0 ESP8 is current. ESP7 is the prior release. If I need an undocumented fix for ESP4, Lawson advises that I need to upgrade. Going to ESP5 or ESP6 does not solve my problem. What have you done?

It means that if you have a big enough problem, you upgrade to ESP8. Some do, some don't.
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Since the releases are twice a year (November and May) we have gone to a once a year upgrade cycle to install the latest version while impacting our users as little as possible with testing.

We put ourselves in a position each year that if a major issues would arise between May and Sept/Oct when we go live with the updated code. However, we manage to that as best we can.

Otherwise we fit in the support window of being current or one back.

Throughout the year we look at the impact of any patch by doing the patch preview, we also run a script to show code differences. We provide that detail analysis to our users who determine the effort to test and move to PROD. By doing this we can scope the testing and focus on the changes.
