    Good day,

Portal, Does not display error messages.
I know there is a kb article (KB 1198011 ) that pertains to this subject, but I'm hearing there is a work around for this?

    2nd question.
I'm wanting to set up a group of users say based on a security class and push those bookmarks for that group.
No we are not on LS and I know this cannot be done using laua, but, I'm hearing there is a way to do this via a template?

    Thank you

When you say does not display error messages, I assume you mean does not display *any* status messages. If so, check the following:
      1) Status bar in IE is enabled
      2) Ensure IE Pop-up Blocker is disabled for the Lawson server(s)

As for "templating" bookmarks, I'm going to assume you mean the following process:
      1) Using Portal Role files, lock in all the of the common/global bookmarks for the classes of users
      2) using a sample user, login and subscribe to anything else you're needing them to have.
      3) using the subsequently created user XML files (located within LAWDIR/persistdata), copy that to each user's xml.
NOTE: If the user already has an xml, you'll have to make a decision to replace or manually merge the settings

If this is not when you meant, give us more info, so we can guide you more specifically.

Yes the stats messgaes I was able to correct with the kb article what I was not clear on is there a way to push this out?

We are not using LS so would there still be a Portal Roles File?

Is there a way to push the security setting for the Staus messaged vs each user having to set this up?

and since we are not using LS would I still have a portal role file to use?
                  thank you

You can easily push it out via Group Policy Ask your Active Directory guy to enable the IE zone settings to "Allow status bar updates via script" for your lawson users security group.
