We did a server sizing with Lawson. Lawson came back with a proposed server sizing for use with IBM hardware(we do use IBM here). On the application server it came back with a 8 socket 16 processer box. We were pricing this out and it seems excessive(About 43K). We are currently running on a quad box with 3Ghz CPUs and 4Gigs of memory. We did some load monitoring over about a day and are average load is about 5% and are peak is 25%. Memroy average is 1.6 Gig and peak was 1.8 Gig. Are user base is about 3 HR users, 18 Finance, 4 Purchasing. We do have employee/manager self service and also T&E. We are approaching 900 employees. T&E however is located on a seperate server. Possibly we confused the server sizing site when we included a bunch of GL transactions that are loaded through batch jobs also possibly they looked at what we are licensed for and didn't really understand are load. In addition the projected growth they show us growing at 1.5 Terabytes and we having been live for 2 years are only now approaching 19 Gigs. This seems off by almost two orders of magnitude. What have other users found when upgrading to LSF9? We were told about 50% more memory/cpu. Thanks
