We have one user that uses LID routinely.  Mostly it's just our development team that uses it.  This user noticed this error yesterday and brought it to our attention this morning.  When we logged in, we all get the same error.  It's on the LAPM command.  And the error does not every on every program, some do work.  Portal is up and working fine.  No issues.  Here is the error:

Server Terminated: Exceeded maximum number of users for application PR

(or whatever system code you are trying to access).

I checked Infor and a search for this error turns up nothing.  Next step is to open a case, but just thought I would ask here first.

I guess the first thing I'd do is find out if there are more users logged on than allowed per your license (MF Server Express App Runtime - I think this is the one you want to look at).

That indicates a license issue. I've noticed it happening more recently on newer LSF versions (e.g. 9.0.1.12).
In those cases it turned out that the license file is getting corrupted.
        Run:
        licsta -r
See if it has the correct client # and licensed user count.
In the cases where it is corrupt it will revert to client 9999.
If that is your case, you will need to re-install the license file.

P.S. Portal works for the most part because the users typically are using a privileged identity which is only counted once.

We had a similar problem once when our number of RMID's exceeded our license - but in this case it affected Portal access as well as LID. But it wouldn't hurt to compare your number of RMID's in Lawson Security with your licensed amount (shown on your latest invoice).

It's not the COBOL license. It is the LSF/Environment license.

Thanks. I ran listca and looks like we exceeded our limit of 10, sometime back in March. I don't understand how though, we have a development team of 4 and only ONE end user that ever accesses it. I mean, we are rarely in LID all the same time, and even then, that would be a total of 5 people.
In 11 years we have never had this error. Really odd.

When you say you have only ONE end user, do you mean that accesses it via LID?
How many core Payroll users do you have that use Portal?
If they are mapped to specific LSF identities, then they are counted separately.
Also, what LSF version are you on?

                  John,
Cindy was referring to 5 physical people in LID. In portal they have plenty. But, I'm as confused in there situation as she is, because I have no idea why last month they would have had over 10 accesses. Wait...yes, I do... I'll post here once I confirm...

                  Cindy,
Check your email, if you hadn't already gotten the info.

Kwane - Eran sent me the steps I need to replace the file.

I had a feeling it was a licensing thing but this is really weird since we just don't have a high LID usage.

John, I was referring to LID useage only, as Kwane stated.
                      9.0.1.8.538 is our LSF version.
