    Hello All!

I am new to using Lawson on Windows. I have over 12 years of experience working on Lawson on the iSeries(AS/400).

    I am installing Application/Environment 8.0.3 on a Windows 2003 Server

    I have some questions/complaints

    1. Before installing the Applications, I read through the SQL Admin Guide(this is a very confusing guide!) Do you create a product line before actually installing the applications then configure the MICROSOFT config parameters? When I installed the applications it created a product line. I guess what I am asking is this: How do I configure the system prior to loading applications that I will be using SQL server?

    Thanks!

      Hi Scott,
The application install procedure will create the product line, and the MICROSOFT config file. The app install will call createprodline, pldbsetup, and editda to ask the questions related to database server/connection info, and will create the MICROSOFT file, and create the database space in dbdef, etc.

This is a change from older ESPs (I think it changed with 8.0.3.ESP6, but I'm not sure), where you used to have to do those steps manually...
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!
