I've used the IBM launchpad to install the websphere plugins for IIS. Through the launchpad, it appears I've successfully installed a new webserver with the plugins.

However in the console, the web server does not appear.

I have stopped and restarted everything and still the web server does not appear in the console.

I can see that the webserver appears in the folder directory with the plugins, but it's just not appearing in the console.

This is windows 2003, IIS6, with Websphere 7.0 with fix packs applied.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance,
    Roger

In my install document, I noted that I had to also add the web servers in the console as a separate process.

Yep I have done the same thing too. And I can create a web server in the console..

I've seen this before too, if I create a web server in the console, the Start and Stop buttons are greyed out, and so I can't manually stop and start the web server.

        Have you seen this?

        Again this is windows.

That I haven't seen. We are Unix, and using IBM HTTP Server, so I haven't a clue how it works with IIS.

            Hi Roger,
If the web server that you created is not visible in IBM admin console under Web servers you might want to copy the configurewebserver_name.bat that was created in the PLUGIN_HOME/bin directory to %WAS_HOME/bin. Run the configurewebserver_name.bat script in command prompt make sure DMGR, node and application server is running. Adding it in console is one way of doing it.

You cannot manage IIS web server added to IBM admin console only IHS web server can be manage in websphere admin console.

            thanks

Did you run your /usr/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/bin/configurelaw9test_webserver.sh file? I've had to manually run the file to get the webserver to show up. There use to be a message under 6.x that told you to run it, I don't remember seeing it with 7.x

Roger, as xoomer points out, I'm not sure that having the IIS web server defined within WAS console adds a whole lot, since you really are mapping modules to the virtual host, so the web server definition is for informational purposes only. In any event, you probably need to run the post-install configuration .bat file, e.g. C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\Plugins\bin\configure.bat
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!
