    LSF9 on Windows 2003, Websphere 6.1 Fix pack 19.

The latest fix pack for Websphere is 33.  The Websphere installer version 7.0 is needed for this fix pack.

Our Lawson configuration has IIS 6 with Websphere on our web server.  LSF9 and applications with Websphere is on our application server.  Whenever I apply a LSF9 patch I usually have to deploy the EARs in Websphere, regenerate the Websphere plugin, and deploy the plugin on the web server.

For the application of the fix packs on our test system (where the web and application components are on one server), the Websphere intaller is run twice -- once for plugins and once for application.

What should be done on production where the web and application components are segregated?  I'm thinking the on the web server, I would run the Websphere installer and chose the plugin updates then on the application server, run the installer and choose the plugin and application updates.

Does anyone have experience or comments with this kind of configuration?  Thanks.

      download update installer (1 item)
download Fixpack 33 for websphere ND and the JDK and the plugin ( 3 items) to a install folder.

      1) install update installer on your webSphere application server
      2) run the update installer. point the install to your application server folder and install maintenance package (point to the install folder to browse for fixpack and it should pick up 2 item (application server and the jdk)
      3) install it.

      4) install update installer on your webserver with the websphere plugin
      5) run the update installe, point the installer to your plugin folder and install maintenance package (point to the install folder to browse for fixpack and it should pick up 2 items, the plugin and jdk fixpack)
      6) run it.
