Can we keep the old LAUA security and not upgrade to Lawson security (role based) security when we upgrade our code to Version 10?

I know it is a big decision to move away from LAUA but LS security is more flexible. Resource time is important in moving from LAUA, since it is required I would look at a couple of solutions that I know are out there that could help make it easier in transition.

We went with Lawson Security Accelerator over 3 years ago. It provided a 80% solution out of the box and we then spent out time building rules not 80% of the time building AP Inquiry or GL Processing roles and groups. Kinsey has a nice product out there in the marketplace as well as others.

I would look to these solutions to reduce your effort and increase your results.

        Hope that helps

There's also the quick-and-dirty LAUA2LS, provided by Infor, to make the jump. If you have very few security classes (i.e. less than 75), then it is a viable option. Anything more than that, it will work, but expect to have to reimplement from scratch later on, unless your LAUA setup has been pristinely managed *and* accurately reflects your current operational requirements.

Okay..... Just checking in..... we are on the path to implement Lawson Security role based security with release 10 code..... Just if there was a workaround it would be nice to have that on the table as well... Thanks for you inputs....JT
