We've been using LBI for almost a year. We have crystal 2008, and we develop front ends using .NET. Never had any problems.

However, suddenly with a few new employees we have seen .rpt files take MUCH longer to upload during the re-publish process......and then furthermore take MUCH longer to load the .aspx front end called from the report Events in LBI.

I have already ruled out EVERYTHING, and isolated the problem to the .rpt files themselves....but there has to be a LBI component here, because we can run the reports within crystal with 0 issues. We can also load the front end screens with 0 issues (very fast).

I can take an .rpt file, upload it, and observe the issue
Then I can start a fresh .rpt, point to the same data source, re-publish it and the issue is gone.

Re-publish the original .rpt, and the issue is back.

So granted the .rpt is the central issue.....but WHAT IS IT....about the .rpt that LBI doesn't like?

Has anyone experienced this? *(Specifically LBI's capability to fetch the front end URL and load it...because that is the primary concern it seems)*

I am basically at the point where I'm going to have to take a .rpt that LBI loads the front end for fast...... and a .rpt where LBI loads the front end slow and run a diff at the HEX level to figure this out, so any help is appreciated.

This may not help but we had problems with Crystal reports in LBI but not in Crystal. We resolved by opening the report in Crystal. Clicking on File >Page Setup > marking the No Printer Option and republishing the report. It resolved our issue.

        WRB - THANK YOU !!!!!!!

That was the problem. I have never printed from within crystal which explains why I never had the issue and our new employees did.

We have had the same perfomance issues when publishing and running CR 2008 reports in LBI.

The page setting absolutely was causing the problems.

          Thanks for the solution!
