I am exploring the capabilities of the Dashboard in LBI. We leverage them regularly today. Several of the items on our dashboards are bursted LBI reports to managers.

I'd like to be able to burst an Excel document to managers, and have that be available on a dashboard. I know I can have LBI read an Excel document, but Excel is not an approved data source for us, so the end-user only sees the most current refreshed version (which we are Ok with).

We are just exlporing ways we can make accessibility to a spreadsheet that managers must reference frequently on an annual basis, versus accessing it using the Excel file path.

    Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks!

For your report is it a rpt? If so - Within LBI you can set the output type to Excel. You can do this on the actual report setup or you can have it set within the schedule. The other option is to set the type within the dashboard link.

We have many reports that we burst as both rpt and Excel, we then have the link on the dashboard open the standard crystal rpt but next to the link we have an excel button that they use if they want it in Excel.
Others we burst out in email as excel.
