I have a series of reports which I want to run following each of our biweekly payrolls. However, the LBI scheduler only has monthly and single week scheduling options. I don't see any way I ran run a report every other Friday, for example. Does anyone have a workaround for this, or is there something I'm missing here?
Posted By Matthew Nye on 03/13/2009 08:20 AM unfofrtunately the RS scheduler doesnt allow for Bi-Weekly scheduling. This seems to be a major functionality gap and I would suggest logging a feature inhancement with Lawson (youre definitely not the first one that needs to do this). As a work around Ive used the SmartNotes scheduler. NOTE: Not the scheduler in each individual notification but the bat files delivered in the installation root. This method can use a a Unix Kron Job or MS Task Scheduler. Just copy the SampleInforset.bat file, edit it and change the URL to be one that generates a historical instance. Example of this is: FSRemote?remtype=redirect&remurl=http:// lbiserver/ers/en-us/ersRequestHandler.jsp?REPORTID=123 &INSTANCEID=0&OUTPUTTYPE=&Refresh=true&Destination=Disk&OuterWrapper=true&NEWREPORT=true Where lbiserver is your base URL and 123 is the ID of your report (btw, thanks to Chris who dug this URL up for me a few weeks ago) Also note that with SmartNotifications 9.0.3.1 schedule is a bit different and I havent looked to see if the SampleInfoset.bat file is sitll there.
Nice workaround!
The Bon Ton Stores, Inc., submitted an enhancement request to Lawson in August 2008 to request better LBI scheduling functionality. (E/R # 13911). We wanted to schedule Crystal financial reports to coincide with our fiscal calendar. To our disappointment, this enhancement request didn't make the cut for the most recent enhancement request prioritization survey sponsored by LGUG hosted on Digital Concourse. We feel that many clients would benefit from enhanced scheduling capabilities in Reporting Services.
