I'm running Crystal XI and exporting (data only) to Excel 2010 but when the number of records exceeds 65,536 the report gets broken up into multiple sheets. I have to How can I overcome this? I'm thinking it's hard coded into Crystal XI and I may need to upgrade to a newer version.

If you are using Crystal 2010 you should not have this problem since it allows you to export in an xls or xlsx file format. Excel 2008 does have this limitation. But, we are stuck as we cannot upgrade to 2010 due to incompatibility issues with our current version of LBI. We need to upgrade LBI in order to upgrade Crystal. This does not seem something that the Company is very keen on doing right now, so we have to just learn to live with it and figure out workarounds where possible :-)

My work around before was to export the file to csv or txt format. Once exported, you can open it up in Excel. Just be aware that if you have fields that have leading zeroes, ensure that it is in text format when you open it up in Excel. Otherwise Excel will drop those and convert them into a number format field.

Thanks for the simple work around. It worked great! Much better than copying and pasting all the rows from 6 or 7 seperate tabs into one.
