The size of our tables seems to have reached a point where most queries run through ADDINS times out. Does anyone know of a setting that controls the amount of time a query may run before it fails with a timeout?
This also occurs using the OLEDB drivers and Crystal.

You can set a timeout for the Addins by clicking the button with the green/yellow arrows

You should be able to control the OLEDB timeout in Crystal when setting up the Data Source, but I haven't tested that this actually works...

My thanks. I suppose a user guide might be of some help.

Try setting the timeout value to 0. In access, that means that there is no timeout. This will eliminate guessing as to what an acceptable time limit is. It may allow queries to run forever also.

I think in the Excel Query Wizard you can't enter 0 for the timeout--it is a minimum of 30 and max of 9999, which should be good enough. If you can't get results in that time, something must be wrong...

Our users are having issues with saved queries not keeping the timeout value. Has anyone seen this? They set it to, say 500, but when they save the query and re-open, the value is gone.

Although it's not the same issue, when microsoft updates are applied to my machine, I always have to repair my add-ins. For whatever reason, my upload wizard won't display product lines. When I repair the software, all of my time out settings disappear. Are you possibly sharing the dme's? Or do your users have their own?

Stephanie: (and others)
I found by almost opening a case with GSC an article that says to set the timeout somewhere between 1 and 999. Save Preferences. Exit Add-Ins. Re-launch. Product lines then appear in the Upload wizard.
Maybe repairing the software may be easier for you, but our users are running off of Citrix servers and there is no way for them to repair the software.
Funny thing is, it didn't show up in the KB until I "almost" opened a case. Must be more articles available to you through the CASE tool than just regular myLawson??
