Hi all, hoping someone can help me!

We have the Lawson add-ins, 9.0.3.1.1387 (latest patch) installed on Excel 2003, XP SP3 and we are experiencing an issue with the Lawson Upload Wizard.  When a user tries to log on, they are met the with logon dialog box displaying the server, username and password fields as expected.  When they click ok, the logon screen disappears and then nothing happens.  The Upload Wizard does not display and no error is produced.  The Query Wizard works without any problems.

I have checked the log files under the default install directory in Lawson Software\Office Add-ins\LoginDir and there is nothing to report here.  I have also checked the Windows Event log and enabled the additional  Lawson add-in logging (set within the registry) but no error message or clue is shown.  If we grant the user local admin rights to their PC, the Upload Wizard then works - so I know this must be some sort of file permission issue.  The add-ins were installed under the administrator account so this should be fine.  I have given the user full access to the install directory and all subfolders but this still does not resolve.  Are there any additional folders that require write access in order for the Upload Wizard to function correctly?

    Thanks.

David - are you running ls9 security? I f you are you can lock down the upload wizard thru an attribute at the schema level. Did they do that?  If they did not do that - I uninstalled the ms addin and cleared it off my computer and reinstalled it.  Try that.

I remember seeing this issue here, too. I cannot remember what our techs did to solve it, though. Let me check with them.

Thanks for the replies.  We found the resolution.  To answer the question relating to security, we are still using LAUA security but within the Lawson Security Administrator users have the add-in parameter set to Allow.

The issue was relating to the registry.  The Lawson Upload add-in tries to access the registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lawson Software] and due to the security configuration on our domain our users did not have modify permissions to this entry.  We had this applied globally and this resolved the issue.

          Thanks all.
