Has anyone implemented Asset Management in S3?

We are in that process now and could use any advice you can offer.

    thanks.

Just to clarify, are you referring to the S3 Asset Management module or the M3 "Enterprise Asset Management" module?
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

Depnding on which application you are converting from the biggest item I found that can get you during the implementation is the way depreciation is calculated. When you start looking at assets that are older, improvements or additions/subtracaction to basis happen. You could have an over or understated register. When you convert the assets and run depreciation look for the adjustments to see how you want to handle.

Otherwise the module is not too difficult to set up. The conversion files are a little tricky, just keep the assets together as you create the asset, item and book files.

Has anyone encountered this issue: "error occured while performing this transaction" on the AM06.6 - Depreciation Allocations?

An asset Type is added on the AM06.1, and the allocation for that type is added on the AM06.6. An asterisk at lower right side of AM06.1 is a link to the AM06.6. One or several types and allocations can sometimes be added before the error occurs. When clicking the asterisk to get to the AM06.6, an error message box appears on the AM06.6. The error message is "error occured while performing this transaction." This error prevents us from added the allocation needed. Once the error starts occuring, it happens also when clicking "next" or "inquire" on the AM06.6.

One to three assets can be added prior to this error occuring - after that - every asset.

            Lee,

What version of Lawson are you running? Sounds like you may be getting that error message from Portal, if you try do the same thing in LID do you get a LACOBRT with a better error message?

Is anything written to the ladb.log?

Might be best to start your own thread for this issue.

The issue is one that we are researching for a user; this started happening after our conversion to LSF using 8.0.3 apps; we are testing with 9.0.1 env and 9.0.1 apps - and getting the same thing. We do NOT allow our users LID access - however, we can still access via LID in the tech area when needed. Will research and advise. Thanks!
