We are in the process of replacing MC70 HHs and Lawson provided us with a listing of MSCM compatible/supported versions. There are so many and we have short period of time to purchase and test the devices. Would anybody be willing to share their process on selecting devices or suggest what things to look for when selecting a new device?

Couple of suggestions around picking handhelds for replacement: keep in mind the size of the device and how often you replace these. Dolphins vs MC70 ect should be the most usable by those using them. Also keep in mind that an android version comes out March/April timeline so technology on these is about to get an update.

The best place to start from my perspective is to call Emkat as they know the devices that will be decom by manufacturers and the support schedules with Lawson. Emkat has always been great to work with on these types of items.

Seconding the Emkat recommendation. They have all the Lawson support schedules and can walk you through replacement options per model. We are going from MC75 to MC40 based on user preference - we had Emkat demo some.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. The MC70 is no longer supported by Lawson. We are looking at the MC75 and MC75A. Do you know the difference between Windows Mobile 6.5 Classic and Windows Mobile 6.5 Phone Edition(Professional)? Which one would you suggest?

Zebra has discontinued the MC75 and MC75A. We were experiencing display failures on our MC75As a couple years ago and Emkat was repairing them for us (much less expensive than Motorola). We consulted with Emkat and have since moved to the MC55A0 model. We use the Windows Mobile 6.5 Classic as the material handlers have ASCOM phones for communicating.
