    Hi All
This is for Apps 8.1 0 MSP5. We currently use the AC module to track some of our IT projects. Unfortunately I had to create a Purchase order (via requisition) using a dummy activity code. The PO has just been released and issued (not received or matched)
Now that i have setup the correct activity i have gone into PO20 and changed the Activity and Account Group to be the correct value.
Reissued and Released the PO and was expecting the commitment to now show up againt this new Activity.
However no commitment is being shown?

Any ideas what it could be? is there another form which needs to be run to transfer/recreate the commitments?

    Thanks

I don't think that changing the activity code on the PO will create an activity commitment after it has been released. You can use manual commitments to create a credit to the original activity and a debit to the actual activity.

But this may also be a bug for that version where it did not create the activity commitment credit and the debit to the actual activity. LGS can help on that. They may have changed the code where changing an activity code on a released PO creates the right commitment.

Another work around is to cancel the PO and recreate it using the right activity code. Once the PO is cancelled it should defnitely create the credit to the activity commitment and a debit to the right activity commitment.

        Hi Ruma,
You can change the activity code in the PO. The trick is to also make a dummy change so that you then re-release the order. I think the action of Releasing the PO created/amends the activity transactions.
In my case the issue was being caused by the Start period of the Activity. When i first created the PO it was set to 01/07/2010 but as the PO was created on 30/06 it did not create the transactions (as should be expected).
i changed the activity period to start a month earlier, made a dummy change to description (added a .).
I can now see the commitment transcations against my new activity

That is right if the activity date was whatwas impeding the commitment then you would have to change it on the activity start and end date and maybe also on the activity group. Once you do this you can change the activity code which will affect your commitment as well.
