    Hi,

Recently my LBI database has been migrated from one server to another. And DBA's have copied SN database to target server.
While logging into LBI with admin access rights user, I'm not able to view ADMIN button in Smart notification home page and this applies to not only to one user, it applicable for all the users in LBI.

Without ADMIN access, we were not able to modify / create any new notification.

As my users are getting affected, Could you please help me to solve this issue ?

    Thanks
    Suresh

      Suresh,

Have you run your InstallValidator yet? It should request that you authenticate there. When you authenticate with your user that should be an admin, what is the message you get here?

Have you restarted WebSphere since the database migration? Was there a migration of the application server as well? Any relevant information in the WebSphere log files?
If any of my answers were helpful an endorsement on LinkedIn would be much appriciated! www.linkedin.com/pub/matthew-nye/1a/886/760/

So a couple of thoughts to see if you have already completed troubleshooting. I assume that LBI reports and dashboards are appearing without issue.

1.) Access install validator are see if there are errors? URL should be something like below
        http://lbiserver:9080/lsn...installvalidator.jsp
2.) Have you tried to synchronize your users and roles since the migration?
3.) Does the Tools menu for LBI come up? you could validate that the admin user rights have made it to LBI

          Hi Mathew,
          Thanks for reply on this.
Yes, I've run the InstallValidator (Please find the attached screen, for your reference). Everything seems to like passes except connectivity to EFS server. Is that real cause for this issue ?

Yes, we have restarted Websphere server many time during our investigation, but hence the same result.
Migration happened only for DB server, not for application server and application remains in the same server.

I'm not expert in log file analysis, could you please assist me in analysis to the specific Websphere log files ?

          Thanks

            Hi Mark,
            Thanks for reply.

Yes your assumption is correct, we were able to run the report & view the dashboard with out any issue.

            1. I accessed installValidator as mentioned in your URL. But I'm getting error message as I'm not an administrator. Please find screen shot as Install Validator.jpg

I'm not getting any error message, if I run the installvalidator from tool menu. But in the below EFS server error, there is EFS server error. Please find the screen shot as Install Validator1.jpg

2.Yes, I've synchronized user and roles from Tool menu. Please find screen shot (Sync Users.jpg)

            3. Yes, I'm able to access Tools menu and I can view all administrator related links. Please find screen shot as Tool.jpg.

Could you please help me how to proceed further on this ?

            Thanks
            Suresh

Go to step 3 of the SN install validator and click sysconfig assistant link. Verify that your SN authentication is configured properly, but specifically you Administrative Group. As Matt said, if you are seeing everything but the Admin button, it's an issue with the SN admin group/role.

Btw, any screenshots you referenced did not upload properly as I'm not seeing any attachments associated with your posts.

                Hi Chris,
I verified Administrative Group, and my user name is part of this group. Please find my attached screen shot for Sysconfig assistant link.

And also, I'm attaching all other screen shots as well for your reference, please help me in solving this issue.

                Thanks

Suresh: I believe that the installvalidator that you have sent screen shots of is the one for Framework Services and not the one for SmartNotifications. Can you go to http://lbiserever:9080/ls...installvalidator.jsp and send screen shots from that install validator?

There are 3 different installvalidators one for FS one for RS and one for SN.

Actually, Id like to see the SysConfigAssistant from SmartNotifications. Everything looks fine with Framework Services. My guess is you dont have FS authentication turned on for SN or if you do the admin group is different.
