We are in the process of selecting the handheld for our upgrade to MSCM. I would appreciate any recommendations for or warnings away from any of the supported models,
    Thanks

Get with your network folks. Make sure that it meets up with their specs. We originally ordered and got some pistol-grip dolphins, but when the network folks took a look at them, they nixed the whole batch because they were only capable of a B radio, and we are trying to switch everything over to G here.
Luckily since we hadn't used them yet, we were able to return them (with a restocking fee) and order some of the new dolphins with a G radio in them.
As far as I know, they are working out quite well.

We are using the Motorola MC70. I can not say it is the handheld, or Mobile supply chain, or Windows Mobile 5- but often it will go into not responding when in use.

The handheld does not actually go into not responding but the screen freezes and it takes 2-4 minutes for it to come back to life. This usually happens when it is syncing with Lawson. Of course no one is any help in troubleshooting. We own 6 of the MC70's. All 6 have this problem, but we do not own any other brand to rule out it is the handheld.

I would also add that Motorola support is worthless. I have spent 5 minthes trying to find out how to reform the handheld back to factory. No on ein support can tell me how.

If we were to to this all over, we would buy Dolphins.

Do you have other installed applications (aside from the default and MSMC) running on your mobile device ? To reset MC70 back to factory default, simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys. Hope this helps.

We have done a clean install and only run Lawson MSCM on the handhelds. Motorola says the issue is Lawson- Lawson says the problem is the handheld.

Once we are out on a delivery and if the handhelds crash- which is often- the data is not viewable on the handhelds.

MSCM has been a very disapointment. We have been live with MSCM for 18 months and our staff still uses the 11 year old system, because it works more consistancy.

I would would not recommend the Motorola Symbol MC70 or the MSCM in Lawson.
