I guess is should have re-read my post before I actually posted it. I have a user that's been tasked with bringing up pharmacy on an inventory control system, and since we already have Lawson IC, we were wondering if we could use that for pharmacy? Is anyone out there using Lawson IC for pharmacy? Or is there a better product?

I'm sure there are much better systems than Lawson! The problem with Lawson is that it can't really handle all the variations of UOM's (SKU's) that a Pharmacy system requires. Lawson actually tried to build a pharmacy module about 10 years or so ago and gave up on it.

One of the problems is also related to the "cocktail" prescriptions that a pharmacy has to build. You can't really track that in Lawson, use a gram of this and two grams of that. Lawson doesn't handle kits in the S3 world.

If you are just going to track bulk quantities, then you could set up a perpetual inventory in Lawson for pharmacy. You would have to charge the stock out when it was actually moved to a production phase and since the drugs, et la could sit in that stage for a while, you are losing the controls that made you wanted with an inventory tracking system to begin with.
