WH130 Print Times

    Good morning!!

    I am with Medical Center Navicent Health (formerly, Medical Center of Central Georgia) and we have been on Lawson since January 5, 2015, it has been along 10 months, but things are finally settling down.  With that I have a question..

    We currently have two WH130 jobs for our main WHS.  Supply Chain has decide that they don't want the WH130 to print from 230pm-530am, print again at 600am and last print to be 230pm. As well, not to print on the weekend.  What they are attempting to accomplish, is the items allocating when the requisition is release /printed and not having someone during those hours to pick the supplies.  Without having to create steps every half hour, for each day of the week (Mon-Fri), does anyone know of a way to accomplish this.

      Your Supply Chain is correct. The allocation should be occurring when the reqs are approved. The WH130 does not allocate.

      You would need to test of course - but put in a req and approve it - the soh should remain the same - but the available should go down and you should see the quantity as Allocated - preventing others from seeing it.

        Kat..  thanks for the reply....Our Stock items are auto approve and don't require anything else.  That process they don't want to change and will not change, so we have to make a change in LID to stop printing..  Any suggestions on that

          Trish,

          I asked my IT guy for his thoughts on this. We use TIDAL to schedule all of our jobs like this. He says:

          If they don’t want to spend the money on 3rd party scheduling software (like we have with Tidal, but there are probably cheaper and easier options out there), one option may be to use Windows Task Scheduler. Lawson has a “jqsubmit” command that allows you to run a job from the Windows command line. They would need to create a .bat file with the command to submit the job they want to run and then use Windows Task Scheduler to run it. The task scheduler is limited as to when you can stop running a command and for how often you want the command to recur. Also, I don’t think there is any notification built in for if the command fails. They would need to rely on Lawson to let them know if their job failed for any reason. Not ideal, but it would save them from creating a bunch of separate run times in Lawson’s RECDEF.
