AM154 - AM Bar Code File Interface
**Form purpose
Run AM Bar Code File Interface (AM154) to load into the Asset Management
application a file downloaded from a hand-held terminal (HHT) and copied to
the Lawson environment.
**Prerequisites
The HHT text file must be downloaded from the HHT terminal and transferred to
the Lawson environment before you can use this program to load it into the
appropriate Asset Management file. The HHT file must be a comma-separated
value text file. Each field in the HHT file must match exactly the position,
type, and size of the corresponding field in the Asset Management file into
which it is loaded.
**Required fields
You must enter a value in the Process Type field. If you change the name of
the downloaded HHT file, you must also type the name of the specific HHT file
you want to load.
**Process at a glance
1. Scan the items you want to add, transfer, dispose, or inventory with a
hand-held terminal.
2. Download the addition, transfer, disposal, or inventory HHT file and use
a transfer utility such as winptxfr to transfer the file to the Lawson
environment.
3. (This step) load the HHT file into the appropriate Asset Management file.
4. Verify and edit the contents of the loaded file using the appropriate
Asset Management form.
5. Depending on the process:
- Add and release the added assets
- Release the transferred or disposed assets
- Reconcile the inventoried assets
For more information, see the Asset Management User Guide
**Decision/impact
The Process Type is enough to identify both the Asset Management database
file into which the data is loaded, and the HHT file to be loaded. However,
if you modify the HHT file name, you must type the new file name in the File
name field.
- If you select ADD (Addition) in the Process Type field, the program looks
for a file named x-AMADD.txt (where x identifies the specific HHT used) and
loads it into AMINTER.
- If you select TRF (Transfer) in the Process Type field, the program looks
for a file named x-AMTRF.txt (where x identifies the specific HHT used) and
loads it into AMASSETTRF.
- If you select DSP (Disposal) in the Process Type field, the program looks
for a file named x-AMDSP.txt (where x identifies the specific HHT used) and
loads it into AMASSETDSP
- If you select INV (Inventory) in the Process Type field, the program looks
for a file named x-AMINV.txt (where x identifies the specific HHT used) and
loads it into AMASTITINV.
If you change the name of the HHT file, you must type the name of the file
you want to load in the File name field.
