AM700

AM700 - Accounting Unit Group Update

AM700 (Accounting Unit Group Update) updates accounting unit group
information and also moves values from the 1YR-EXP field to the YR1-EXP field.
AM700 provides a parameter for creating just a report (Release = No) or
actually updating database files (Release = Yes). The No release option lets
you see what accounting unit groups are automatically generated, without the
groups actually being created. (If AM700 names the accounting unit groups,
they are named AUG-nnnnnn, where nnnnnn starts at 000001.) With this
information, you can decide whether to manually name the accounting unit
groups in AM09.1 (Accounting Unit Group) or to let AM700 name the new groups.

AC700 also maintains existing accounting unit groups. It checks the account
defaults for each asset to see whether an accounting unit group exists. If no
accounting unit group is found or it is incomplete on an asset, the program
checks AM06.1 (Type ), AM05.1 (Account Group ), and the default accounting
unit to find defaults for each account type. From this information, the
program determines if an accounting unit group is required or if the accounts
can be satisfied using the default accounting unit. If an accounting unit
group is required, the program searches to find one. If a match is not found
and the release option is Yes, a new accounting unit group is created.

The report for AM700 prints accounting unit information only for the assets
affected by the addition of an accounting unit group or default accounting
unit. The program adds one or the other to an asset, but not both. The
information in the report consists of the before and after accounting unit
group, default accounting unit, and accounting units for the various account
types.

In addition, AM700 moves values from the 1YR-EXP field to the YR1-EXP field.
This field name was changed in 7.0.6 to work better for Web users. The YR1-EXP
field was added to the following files: AMASTBKADJ, AMASTBKCNV, AMASTBKDSP,
AMASTBKTRF, and AMASTBOOK.

Note: Once release 7.0.6 is installed, you cannot see the accounting unit on
AM06.1 and AM05.1, since in 7.0.6 the Accounting Unit field has been removed
from these forms. You can use the AM700 report as an audit trail of the
changes.
